Carson Schnieders gets some words of encouragement from head coach Bob Morris.

Led by Carson Schnieders’ 444 series, the West Delaware boys’ bowling team defeated Independence 2,900–2,708 at Lightning Lanes, Jan. 8.

Schnieders rolled games of 235 and 209. C.J. Rich was right behind Schnieders, rolling games of 215 and 188 for a 403 series. Next came Louis Shontz 184-171 (355), Jacob Hosch 139-205 (344), Kalen Recker 150-177 (327) and Dominic Rave-Olson 144-170 (314).

The Hawks led 1,873-1,758 before adding 1,027 in the Baker rotation.

JV boys’ scores for the Hawks were: Saul Hernandez 196-207 (403), Nic Jones 189-145 (334), Kaeleb Sickels 152-141 (293), Tim Swenka 147-113 (260), Trey Bolkowski 143-109 (252) and Josh Reddingius 65-90 (155).

Coach Bob Morris said, “We started slow but improved in our second. We threw our high baker round of the year. The team only had six opens in the five games and converted 47 out of 53. I was very pleased with the win. The boys kept at it and really brought it together in the baker round. Our next three meets are at home, which will give up an opportunity to improve on our first game.”
