Annie Hoffman’s toss of 33-6.5 in the shot put was the lone first-place finish for the Edgewood-Colesburg girls at the Clayton Ridge Invitational, April 27.

The Vikings were able to add a second-place finish in the high jump with Kelsey Hansel’s 4-8 effort. Finishing third was the 4x200 team of Hansel, Aspen Jones, Emma Staner and Campbell Kirby (2:09.26).

Hoffman finished fourth in the discus (83-02.5) and Sophia Wilson fourth in the shot (31-10.5).

Brooke Bolinger was fifth in the 400, running 1:11.63. Placing sixth was the sprint medley team of Emma Saddoris, Staner, Bolinger and Jessica Avianeda (2:28.92) and the 4x100 team of Hansel, Saddoris, Ellie Bockenstedt and Kirby (1:02.5)

Finishing eighth were Olivia Welsh in the discus (65-2.5) and Bolinger in the 800 (3:09.32).

Sumner-Fredricksburg scored 126 points to win the team race, ahead of Turkey Valley (111) and Kee High (108). Next was Clayton Ridge (83), West Central (43), Ed-Co (42), MFL Mar-Mac (34) and East Buchanan (27).

At the Cascade Co-Ed April 29, Brooke Amling, Bolinger, Schyler Meyer and Addy Kirby finished third in the 4x800 (12:52.37) and Hoffman earned a third-place finish in the shot (33-4.75).

Finishing sixth was the distance medley team of Hansel, Jones, Bolinger and Amling (5:23.03) as well as Ella Aulwes in the long jump (14-3.5).

Hansel finished seventh in the high jump (4-08) and Bolinger, Amling, Meyer and Bockenstedt finished eighth in the 4x400 (5:04.76).

Northeast won the team title with 130.5 points. Bellevue was runner up with 94 and Cascade third with 79. Next came Maquoketa (70), Maquoketa Valley (66), Beckman (61), North Cedar (51), Midland (37), Central City (32.5), Springville (29), Easton Valley (27), Ed-Co (21) and Calamus-Wheatland (19).
