A pair of triangular meets as well as the Maquoketa Invitational kept the West Delaware boys’ golf team busy last week.

The Hawks shot 190 at Solon, April 26, finishing third in the triangular. Solon shot a blistering 161 at Lake McBride Golf Course with Mount Vernon second, also at 190. Elias Tibbott led the Hawks with a 45, followed by Gavin Tucker 47, Payton Lewin and Bryce Smith 49, Keevan Hauschild 52 and Will Halverson 53.

Solon’s Mac McCarty was meet medalist with 38, while teammate Jack McCarty from Solon was runner up with 39.

West Delaware shot 362 and finished third in the Maquoketa Invitational, April 28, at the Maquoketa Country Club. Tibbott again anchored the Hawks’ squad, shooting 81. Hauschild was next with 92. Lewin shot 94, Tucker and Smith 95 and Halverson 96.

The Maquoketa duo of Noah Nabb and Caiden Atienza were medalist and runner up, with Nabb shooting 75 and Atienza 79.

Maquoketa won the team title with 337, followed by Vinton-Shellsburg’s 355. Next came West Delaware, Northeast (372), Easton Valley (383) and Lisbon (393).

The Hawks concluded their week hosting Independence and Center Point-Urbana, April 29, at Pin Oak Pub & Links. Independence won the meet with 179, followed by West Delaware (190) and Center Point-Urbana (201).

Kellen Howard from Independence was medalist with 41, while teammate Caleb Straw was next with 42.

Tibbott shot 44 to lead West Delaware. Halverson shot 47, Smith 48, Hauschild 51, Tucker and Lewin 53.

In the JV meet, the Hawks won with 221, followed by CPU with 227 and Independence with 242.
