As with all businesses, the Coronavirus had a serious impact on the American Legion bar. The bar is small but is an important meeting place for members and the community. There are a few members of the community (Friends of the American Legion) and businesses in our community we must give a huge thank you for planning and donating to the Independence Day Celebration held at the Manchester Whitewater Park. Their effort was the catalyst in raising a little extra to help reopen after the Governor lifted the restrictions.

Deb and Leon Schlichte for the initial idea and planning the event. Deb had this event planned in a few short days, from the musical talent, food and the venue.

All the sponsors from Fareway, American Family-Tadd Moreman Insurance, A-Z Snacks, KMCH, Casey's General Stores, Norbys, Pronto, Heritage Printing, Kwikstar “C” Stores. American Legion Auxiliary for providing desserts, Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders for cooking.

The musical talent Mark Hawker, Lee Hawker, Morehouse and Johnson, Darrell-Connie and Jacque for providing great music and much-needed laughs after the long months of being restricted on any public activity. We would also like to thank the community who showed up to support and donate to make this event a success on reopening the American Legion Bar.
