Susan Kay Klostermann, 61, of Manchester, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo with her husband at her bedside.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester with Reverend Gabriel Anderson officiating.

Visitation: 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends may also call 9-10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at the funeral home. Because of COVID-19, masks are required at the funeral home and required at the church.

Sue was born Aug. 27, 1959, the daughter of George and Thelma (Maiers) Burkle at Dyersville. Sue graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1977.

On April 21, 1979, Sue was united in marriage to Gary Klostermann at St. Francis Basilica in Dyersville. Three children were born to this union. They resided in Manchester. Sue worked 40 years for Collins in Manchester retiring in November of 2020.

Sue was a long-time member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and riding the motorcycle and convertible with her husband, Gary. Most of all Sue enjoyed spending time with her family especially time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Gary of Manchester; three children: Angie (Jeff) Lay of Plainfield, Ill., Todd (Natashia) Klostermann of Bennington, Neb., Amy (Jason) Underwood of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Ken (Julie) Burkle of Manchester, Cindy Crock of Marion; and many friends and co-workers.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronald Burkle and David Burkle.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of Sue Klostermann.
