The family welcomed all attendees to gather after the service to celebrate Rick’s life.

Rick was born Dec.11, 1962 to George and Karen (Herschinger) Davis in West Union and was baptized at the United Methodist Church in West Union. Rick graduated from West Delaware High School, Manchester, in 1981. After graduation, Rick attended Highland University in Las Vegas, New Mexico and played football. He then transferred to Iowa State University where he graduated in 1985 with a degree in Ag Business.

Rick was united in marriage with Linda Strong on Aug. 5, 1989 at Illyria Community Church, Elgin. Three children were born to this union, Brandon, Joelle and Logan. Rick was an agronomist in northeast Iowa for over 30 years. He was most recently employed with Grain Bin Supply in Aurora. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, being outdoors, riding his Harley, and was an avid Cyclones and Packers fan. He loved playing with his grandkids and spending time with friends and family. Rick was very proud of the home he and Linda built, with the walnut grove and pond where he enjoyed spending time. His grandkids lovingly referred to him as “Papa Tree”.
