Jerry L. Wendling, 76, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born Oct. 28, 1945, to Harry Wendling and Velma Theel Wendling. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.

Jerry retired from Delaware County and worked part-time for Rally Transportation until his health issues made him retire.

His passion was fishing. He always said any day was a good day to fish unless the wind was out of the east.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Tana Wendling; his children: Tim (Lynn) Wendling of Dyersville, Todd (Michelle) Wendling of Riverside and Tina (John) Walsh of Chicago, Ill.; seven grandchildren: Brittni, McKenzie, Tristen, Hannah, Conor, Aidan and Brendan; and one sister, Juanita Heitter of Fairbanks.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Wendling; and sister, Glenda Forsyth.
