Charles House, Ankeny, went home to the Lord, Dec. 6, 2020, his 83rd birthday.

A memorial service with burial will be held in the spring at Golden Congregational Church, Ryan.

Chuck was born Dec. 6, 1937, in Wasioja, Minn. to William and Bethel House. He graduated from Coggon High School and Iowa State University, majoring in Dairy and Food Technology.

Chuck and Gloria (Mangold) House were married Aug. 16, 1959 and raised three sons. They were married for 61 years. He was employed by Carnation Co., Milnot Co. and Diamond Crystal Specialty Foods.

Chuck loved his family dearly. Many memories were made with his sons as their Boy Scout leader, boating and working on cars. He loved golfing, playing cards, games and RV-ing.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; sons: Steven House, El Reno, Okla., David (Lori) House, Thornton, Colo. and Allen House, Ankeny; grandchildren: Austin, Eric, Sidney and Jacob House; brother, Vernon House, Tripoli and sister, Marilyn Wolcott, Johnson City, Tenn., along with many other loving family members. Proceeding him in death were his parents; brother-in-law, Bob Wolcott; sisters-in-law, Barbara House and Linda Showman and parents-in-law, Ed and Harriet Mangold.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or Golden Church.
