Alva William “Junior” Hahn, 81, of Manchester, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at the Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Independence.
Visitation was held from 4 — 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester.
Private Inurnment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Alva was born May 3, 1938, in Manchester, the son of Alva and Alice (Greene) Hahn. Junior was raised and educated in the Manchester area, and graduated in 1956 from Manchester High School.
On Aug. 13, 1958, Junior was united in marriage to Carol Lubben. Six children were blessed to this union.
They later were divorced. Over the years, Junior worked for Illinois Central Railroad, Cucklers in Monticello, and was a forty-year employee for the Post Office, serving as city and rural mail carrier.
Junior enjoyed hunting, fishing, steam trains, boating, collecting coins and guns, and camping with the family when the kids were young.
Survivors include his five children, Randy (Jennifer) Hahn of Manchester, Julie (Dan McCarthy) Hahn of Vail Colorado, Kris Hansen and Stacy Pennington both of Manchester, and Steve Hahn of Portland, Ore.; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis (David) Meader of Manchester; a niece, Lauren Meader; a nephew, Chris Meader; and a son-in-law, Gary Clukey of Parker, Colo.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Debra Sue Clukey.
