That “Little Ol’ Band from Texas” is coming to Manchester. Delaware County Fair officials announced that ZZ Top will perform Friday, July 16 at the fair.
The trio of Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard lay claim to being the longest-running major rock band with original personnel intact.
ZZ Top has been on the list of acts to get for several years according to Delaware County Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer. “We put out a survey on Facebook a couple of years ago and ZZ Top was hands down the winner of that study. We knew then that we had to keep them on our radar until we got the chance to bring them to town. After losing our fair last year, we knew we wanted to bring in a home run hit for 2021 and we think we’ve done just that with ZZ Top.”
Domeyer added that in normal years the show would be the fair’s VIP Night, but not this year. “With the extra space needed for an act this size and the desire to space people out, we have chosen to move away from the free food and drink concept. However, we will still have waitresses on the track and they will bring your drinks right to you so you won’t miss a minute of the show.”
Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 17 at 9 a.m. and may be purchased at www.delawarecofair.com. Tickets for the stage front pit will be $65 and the track tickets will be $50.
