West Delaware FFA participates in ‘Adopt-A-Highway’ program

West Delaware FFA members enhanced their local environment by cleaning up trash on Highway 13 through the “Adopt-A-Highway” program Sept 11. The program encourages groups to help with an anti-litter commitment as a positive part of the community by adopting parts of the state highway. Freshman FFA member Ryan Hilby said, “Adopt-A-Highway is beneficial because it helps clean the roadsides while helping beautify the community.” The students collected seven bags or 124 pounds of trash, before properly disposing of it. West Delaware FFA’s 3.1 mile stretch of highway is one of the busiest stretches in Delaware County. From left, Luke Beswick, Kaleb Willie, Ryan Hilby, Olivia Hilby, Andrea Kann and Macie Putz.
