A Manchester woman was recently recognized for her efforts to better her community and help the people living in it.
Mary Wegmann was nominated for the Nice Neighbor Award by Dick and Carol Justice, who believe that Wegmann has gone out of her way to assist those in need, even during the often-hectic COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Milt Kramer presented Wegmann with the award at the Manchester City Council’s May 24 meeting.
“Mary, and sometimes her daughters, graciously donated their time during COVID-19 to pick up groceries and other items for their neighbors,” Kramer said. “Mary is always friendly and is a fantastic role model — truly a nice neighbor.”
Kramer said award recipients embody the spirit of good neighborship while increasing the quality of life of those around them.
