Police: Manchester man vandalizes Trump sign
A 77-year-old Manchester man has pled guilty to spray painting a President Donald Trump sign on Bailey Drive last week.
Authorities charged John Winston Clawson with criminal mischief fifth-degree after confirming he was caught on surveillance video defacing the sign in early April.
“Upon interviewing (Clawson) at his home, a spray paint can of the same color was noticed adjacent to the garage,” the arrest report states. “(Clawson) had admitted to painting the sign on Bailey Drive and another one on W Main Street on or about April 28th, 2021.”
Clawson was originally charged with two counts of criminal mischief fifth degree, but one count was dismissed by the court because when Clawson appeared, only one of the complaints had been submitted by the state.
The court has ordered Clawson to pay a fine of $105.
