Police say a husband and wife were both arrested on multiple charges after a Jan. 23 altercation that included a man being hit in the head with a vodka bottle, and a woman carrying a knife being apprehended at gunpoint by the Manchester Police Department.

Felita Denise Malone, 46, Manchester, was arrested for going armed with intent, violation of a no-contact order and domestic abuse assault use of a weapon. Sanders Donnell Malone, 54, Manchester, was arrested for domestic abuse assault third or subsequent offense and violation of a no-contact order.

Both were arrested following the Jan. 23, altercation.

According to court documents, the Manchester P.D. responded to a report of a male subject being stabbed and hit in the head with a bottle at approximately 5 p.m., Jan. 23.

Police say they met with Sanders on the 600 block of New Street, and during their conversation, Sanders told authorities he was at 116 Ludland Drive with his wife, Felita, when she hit him over the head with a vodka bottle, causing a laceration above his eye. After being hit with the bottle, Sanders said Felita grabbed a knife from a kitchen drawer and threatened to stab him, documents state.

Sanders was pulled away by another male subject and then left for the residence on New Street.

Officers then responded to Ludland Drive to locate Felita, and upon arrival saw her looking out an upstairs window at the officers, the report states. As one of the officers walked to the rear of the building, they say they observed Felita exiting the apartment holding a knife.

The officer held her at gunpoint and advised her to drop the knife, at which point she compiled, an affidavit states. Felita was then arrested and transported to the Delaware County Jail.

A check of Sanders’ and Felita’s identification showed a no-contact order between the two from another domestic incident that occurred in August 2019.

During the course of the investigation, it was also reported that Sanders had assaulted Felita, who was eventually taken to Regional Medical Center for pain she was feeling.

Sanders and Felita are both set to have an initial appearance Feb. 3.
