Manchester man ‘seriously’ injured in Hwy 13 collision
A Manchester man was believed to be seriously injured after rear-ending a snowplow just north of Marion, authorities stated.
According to a press release from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, on Jan. 4 deputies along with Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue, the Marion Fire Department and Area Ambulance Service were dispatched to a two-vehicle rear-end collision on Hwy 13 north of Austin Road.
Authorities say that a southbound Ford F250 driven by Terry Bond, 46, of Manchester, failed to change lanes and struck an IDOT snow plow that was clearing the right lane of the highway.
Bond, who authorities say was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for what are believed to be serious injuries. The snowplow driver was also transported to St. Luke’s for possible injuries.
Authorities say Bond was not valid to drive and will receive charges for causing the collision and failure to wear a seatbelt.
