As expected, the Delaware County Board of Supervisors approved a site for the new sheriff office and jail at its June 10 meeting.
The 18,622 square feet facility will be located on West Howard St., off N. 13th St. The county purchased the four-acre lot from Gary Von Talge at a price of $200,000.
Officials expect the construction to take between 12 – 14 months to complete.
County Engineer Anthony Bardgett reported to the supervisors that:
• Taylor Construction is working on the substructure of the Pioneer Road Bridge.
• Bard Materials has started contract rock in the Ryan area. They are expected to work in the southwest part of the county all week.
