Report: Horse put down after on-road collision

Authorities say a horse that ran into the roadway suffered a broken leg and was put down after being struck by a car Feb. 26.

According to a report, Duane George Heims, 54, of Manchester, was westbound on 250th Street when the horse owned by Mahlon Jay Mast, of Delhi, ran onto the road and was struck by his car, causing $15,000 in damages.

The report states Heims was uninjured.
