Murphy allowed just the one run and struck out six in her four innings on the mound. Hermsen gave up just one hit.

The Panthers had won their first two games, 14-2 over North Fayette and 6-0 over Starmont to reach the semis.
The Hawks scored a first inning run when Sara Hermsen doubled to drive in Ashley Hood who had singled and stole second.
That would be the only run of the game as the Hawks advanced to the finals with a 1-0 win over the very talented Panthers.
The Hawks would get a pair of hits in the top of the second but would stand both runners. The base hits by Jenny Hood and Katlyn Heiserman would be the last two of the game for West Delaware.
Hawk pitcher, Katie Murphy worked herself out of a couple of tight spots during the game. She finished the contest with 11 strike outs and a pair of walks while allowing the hard hitting Panthers just four hits.
